Issue
GRENCODA has identified the need for stronger systems and enhanced skills to improve its internal capacity to serve rural, low-income communities.
How we are helping
We are supporting GRENCODA to strengthen its financial systems, deliver staff training, and integrate volunteer support into its human resource strategy.
About the project
The Foundation’s capacity strengthening grants stream supports smaller Commonwealth civil society organisations in smaller Member States, building their expertise and enhancing their capacity to influence policy.
GRENCODA provides essential support to rural low-income communities. To better meet the needs of its beneficiaries, the organisation is working to improve its internal systems and staff capacity. With this grant, GRENCODA will enhance its financial management processes, provide targeted training for staff, and formally integrate volunteer support into its operations. These improvements will ensure the organisation is better equipped for effective services delivery and community engagement.
The key actions for this project are:
- Staff training and development.
- Conducting staff training sessions on financial reporting.
- Providing gender analysis training to build inclusive approaches across the organisation.
- Hiring a consultant to design and deliver the training sessions.
- Systems and operational strengthening.
- Procuring accounting software and office equipment to improve financial systems and reporting.
- Integrating volunteer support as a key element of GRENCODA’s human resources strategy.
As a result of the project, it is hoped that GRENCODA will have stronger relationships with community members and be better equipped to serve vulnerable rural populations. The organisation will improve its financial systems, enabling more efficient and transparent operations, and staff will have stronger technical skills and a better understanding of inclusive development practices.
