Issue
Merundoi Incorporated seeks to strengthen its visibility and financial viability by implementing its strategic plan and improving communications.
How we are helping
We are supporting Merundoi to strengthen its communications capacity, upskill staff, and implement strategies that expand reach and attract long-term support.
About the project
The Foundation’s capacity strengthening grants stream supports smaller Commonwealth civil society organisations in smaller Member States, building their expertise and enhancing their capacity to influence policy.
Merundoi Incorporated is a creative media-based civil society organisation that uses storytelling and the arts to inform, educate, and engage the public. To expand its reach, attract new partners and support long-term sustainability, Merundoi aims to strengthen its visibility and financial viability. With this grant, the organisation will develop and deliver a comprehensive communications strategy, enhance social media engagement, and upskill staff for effective delivery of its strategic plan.
The key actions for this project are:
- Strategic planning and implementation.
- Reviewing and implementing the strategic plan.
- Enlisting consultants to support strategy and communications delivery.
- Developing and executing a marketing plan to attract donors and partners.
- Communications and outreach.
- Implementing a communications strategy to increase engagement across social and traditional media.
- Educating the public using creative arts and mass media.
- Expanding Merundoi’s presence and visibility locally and internationally.
- Capacity building and collaboration.
- Conducting staff training based on identified skills gaps.
- Collaborating with local and international institutions to share methodologies and strengthen programming and monitoring.
As a result of the project, it is hoped that Merundoi Incorporated will be better equipped to implement its strategic plan and grow its influence. Stronger financial planning will improve sustainability, staff will benefit from new skills to improve programme delivery and internal governance, and increased engagement on social and traditional media will raise awareness of Merundoi’s work. Through creative outreach and education, Merundoi will expand its impact across communities in Guyana and beyond.
